Casa Albera
A single-storey house that steps down toward the sea, organised around one long, shaded terrace.
The brief asked for a family house that disappears into its landscape. A single horizontal roof plane gathers the living spaces beneath it, while private rooms sit behind a thick masonry wall facing the road.
Design concept
One line, one roof, one terrace. Every room borrows the horizon, and the depth of the overhang is tuned so that summer sun never reaches the glass.
Material strategy
Lime-washed masonry, fine board-marked concrete and honed local stone. Few materials, repeated, so the house reads as one quiet object.
Spatial planning
Living, dining and kitchen form one continuous room along the terrace; bedrooms are arranged as a calm sequence behind a gallery that doubles as a library.
Architectural details
Frameless sliding glazing disappears into wall pockets. Rainwater is collected in a concealed gutter integrated into the roof edge.
